Samsung has today launched two new tablets in the Galaxy series Tab3: The existing model with 7 inch display is complemented by two major varieties, respectively 8 inch and 10.1 inch screen. The news is expected on sale in Norway in June.

Reuters reports having received confirmation from Samsung that titommeren is equipped with an Intel processor. The news agency reported before the weekend that Samsung would choose Intel Atom Clover Trail mobile processor for at least the next news Tab3 series. Venturebeat.com reported already 24 May that Samsung would choose Intel Clover Trail for an Android-board Tab3 series.

the official specifications Samsung today announced it says only that the 8 inch model has a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, while 10.1-inch model has a dual-core 1.6GHz processor. Both run by Android 4.2, “Jelly Bean”, is available with WLAN, 3G mobile and LTE, and has front and rear cameras. Both have a screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels, and can be supplied with up to 32 gigabytes of storage. In addition, both slots for miniSD cards, for cards up to 64 gigabytes. WLAN editions weigh respectively 314 grams and 510 grams. Titommeren is marginally thicker: 7.9 millimeters to 7.4 millimeters.

arouses considerable attention that Samsung chooses an Intel processor for a tablet powered by Android. Samsung manufactures its own ARM-based mobile processors called Exynos. That they choose Intel until Exynos for Tab3 10.1 in. suggests that Clover Trail actually have a future in the Android board.

Intel is working on an upcoming microarchitecture for mobile processors, called Haswell. It promises twice as good graphics as Atom, and 50 percent better energy efficiency.
