Public Health (FHI) developed a new chemical process to examine the skin cells, which led to an arrest in Kristin case in Larvik.

Given that, Østfold Police now taken contact with Public Health to obtain a reconsideration of the DNA traces found at the site where Marit Ødegaard was killed.

– We have asked for a consideration of whether there is reason to make new analyzes of the material we already submitted. We also asked whether it might be appropriate to submit material that we have saved but not submitted, says communications consultant in Østfold Police, Øysten Stavdal Paulsen told Aftenposten.

It gives the family hope.

– I think it’s good. It will be fantastic to get peace, we think about it all the time, says Bente.
