Experts will have tablets in daycare – Oppland Arbeiderblad

Every three nursery has access to the tablet. Now experts believe that all children have access to tablets in the nursery to reduce inequalities.

It is the examination Nursery Monitor from Centre for ICT in Education showing that 29 percent of kindergartens have access to tablets. The center is now experiencing an influx of nursery staff who want training in the use of tablet computers and other educational technology, writes Aftenposten.

Media Authority Toddlers and media survey for 2014 shows that eight out of ten children have access to the tablet at home. The proportion of children who have their own tablet also increases rapidly, according to TNS Gallup survey Media Children 2014

– The use of tablets in day care may help to reduce the divide between those who have and those who do not have access to the tablet at home. When you arrive at school, it may actually be too late, says Pia Holmen Lang, who leads the “Safe Use” by the Media Authority.

Cathrine Fragell Darre, project manager of “Digital practices in kindergarten” in Norlandia-daycare, also points out that the smoothing function to daycare might apply to children who have access, but who primarily plays alone at home.

– It is quite another to experience social processes around games and creative activities in kindergarten, says Darre. (© NTB)
