Cisco CEO proud of green first place - OBI Online

IT company Cisco tops Greenpeace’s ranking of the greenest IT companies.

Cisco has been named the greenest IT company in 2013 by Greenpeace, which recently presented its annual analysis of corporate involvement in the fight to combat climate change. It says IT company in a press release.

The award, named Cool IT Leaderboard is Greenpeace’s annual ranking of the world’s largest IT companies through its products and offers may contribute directly to use energy smarter and cleaner.

– Of course it is with great pleasure that we end up in first place in Greenpeace poll. This means that even large, global companies can be environmentally friendly by working purposefully and be conscious of its role as a corporate citizen, says Jørgen Myrland, CEO of Cisco Norway.

year’s Cool IT Leaderboard is the fourth of its kind, and includes an assessment of 21 of the largest IT companies in the world.
