Google and Nestlé is launching Android 4.4 - Aftenposten

Google launches new versions of its operating system Android is a big thing in the mobile and tablet world.

Android had a market share of almost 80 percent in 2nd quarter in terms of the number of mobile devices shipped from the factory, according to figures from market research company Strategy Analytics. In comparison, Apple’s Ios a similar market share of 16.6 percent.

A similar thing is what pet name version you get. Google has traditionally given versions named after desserts, such as “donut”, “cupcake”, “eclair” and so on. Everyone thought that the next edition should be called “key lime pie” (which we honestly do not really know what is).

But now they all surprises – in several ways. The name is KitKat. And Kitkat is a chocolate Nestle owns the rights. A chocolate not unlike Freia’s Quick Lunch.

Nestlé lit obviously the idea of ??calling the next Android version after the chocolate, and the press release says it actually “Google and Nestlé announce Android KitKat”.

matter: Next version called Android 4.4 KitKat. Much more, neither Google or Nestlé said.

Android chief Sundar Pichai announces otherwise in a Twitter message that it is now activated more than a billion Android devices.

Worth noting is that it has only been a month since the previous Android version was released.

It’s almost as we wonder if we are being made a fool of.

In connection with the stunt Nestlé has made a chuckle worthy parody advertisement for KitKat. Oh snap , it appears that we went to the PR trap. Again.
