It is almost without competitors - Dagbladet.no

real sports car, it is expensive there. How we are used to thinking in a country where good benefits have tended to cost the earth.

But now are options with full sports emotions that you can get for the price of a fairly normal family station wagon. An important reason: the new generation of small gasoline turbo engines coming through meeting with our tax system without being stoned to death.

Peugeot RCZ 1.6 THP has such an engine. 156 hp and 240 Nm of torque may not seem like much, but in Norwegian speed conditions – and well above it – the performance fresh.

RCZ has recently been given a facelift. The air inlets in the front have been a very different form than before, and where it was previously common fog, today suffered.

RCZ has few direct competitors. To the affordable sports cars belonging Mazda MX-5 sports and issues of the Mini, Mini Cooper S Roadster and Mini Cooper S with normal roof. Audi TT starts slightly higher in price, but has a stronger motor (see test of the far more expensive here TTS).

a little farther plan is a relatively inexpensive GTI-compact car that Kia Pro_Cee’d GT a option in the same price range (it is quick!).

Handling: 5

Test car for their driver in true sports car feel. You sit low, the steering wheel is small and the interior is typical sports details like metal pedals. The selector lever is operated with very short and cash movements.

Once you are up in speed, you get sense of speed in plenty. Speed ??Sense is much better than speed in a country with our speed limits.

test car has 19-inch wheels with sports tires in size 235/40 (optional). They contribute to a direct steering feel, and the front wheels biting her seemingly stuck in the asphalt until doomsday. A law-abiding drivers in Norway will hardly ever get the wheels on this car to drop on dry asphalt.

tire grip, and what we feel is a nice weight balance of the car, makes it very easy to handle in our regular running exercises on a closed circuit. The dances at high speed through the slalom exercise, and long one of the best cars we have exposed Elk Test (double dodge).

Only when we truly take in, we experience something strange: It seems that the servo sticking completely with when in quick succession turns left, right and left again between the cones. It is not dangerous, but we simply have to use more muscle to swing.

Engine: 5

The engine is a great representative of the modern bensinturboene. Maximum torque is available at very low speed, and it provides easy driving during normal driving.

Maximum power when the eve of 6000 rev / min, and it’s not quite end there either. The quick drag on a bit farther.

test car both growls and hums engine more than in other Peugeot models we have run the same engine. You can read the chapter about price / equipment.

If the motor is super, we think the gear ratio is not quite optimal for maximum sportiness under Norwegian conditions. Third gear unless its favoritturtall until you are at risk of UP. You need it in second gear to bring out the full power of Norwegian legal speeds, and there are just too fussy.

Benefits: 4

The results from the acceleration measurements show that we finished with the motor section. 60-100 km / h in third gear takes 5.5 seconds. It is significantly slower than for a bestseller Golf 1.4 TSI engine and 140 hp, which manages it in 4.6 seconds (with automatic transmission). One might expect a little more from a sports car.

And yes, the more you get, but you need it in second gear. Then go sprint in the same speed range from 4.3 seconds.

80-120 km / h takes 6.1 seconds. In this speed range, and preferably further up, third gear in great shape. Asked is feisty and delightful, but then the move that is in excess high for Norwegian roads.

Simply by normal, everyday driving, which is probably also RCZ-drivers will commit most of the time, the engine always feels strong and willing, even in high gear.

Exterior: 6

We crave the Peugeot RCZ has given proper sports car shapes.

It starts with a low and wide front, so it should be on a sports car. The interior part is a kind of dome in the middle of the car, and the dome have even gotten waves over the heads of those who will sit in it.

Hindquarters are powerful, and every time you look in the side mirrors, you are reminded the RCZ is something other than a regular car: Screens muscular bulges out. The wheels fill the wheel arches perfectly out.

test car also has karbontak (optional) looking extra grand out.

Interior: 4

From the driver’s seat has very little to fault in interior design. We sit with good support in the sports seats. The steering wheel is suitably close. We even have a good view – it is better visibility in most directions, particularly backward, RCZ than the average compact car designed for today’s trends.

However, it is too much in 2000 over control of navi / radio / info device (WIP Nav + accessories), who cumbersome logic and control compared to most other available today.

Not least, it is a joke to call RCZ for a four seater. Adults need to saw off the legs above the knees to fit in the back seat. Parents who actually like their kids will probably ask them to sit there over time.

See it on the back seat as extra storage space. Fold down the back, and the RCZ has storage space for a European tour for two.

quality feel of the interior is after pretty decorations in the folkebilnivå, and consequently a distance premium.

Comfort: 4

You do not buy a Peugeot RCZ for maximum comfort. When still get great comfort character, it is because we consider it as what we think it deserves to be called: a sports car.

There is a lot of noise in the car. Some of the noise can probably be attributed to the 19-inch – maybe the standard tires on 18 inch be more appropriate on roads with our rough asphalt. Impact Sounds from the chassis we also hear the sharp bumps.

suspension is firm. The speed is the sufficiently flexible to avoid a rotten day on normal good surface. On rough roads will be many jostling in the car. It is normal for such a car.

Safety: 3

Peugeot RCZ is not crash tested by EuroNCAP safety organization. In such cases we tend to put our standard grade 3

That does not mean we think security is low in the RCZ. It has all of the safety electronics we would expect to find in a modern car.

agile but safe handling even when we simulate critical situations, a safety factor in itself.

price / Equipment: 4

Peugeot RCZ 1.6 THP with 156 hp costs referred from 375.000 million. In our opinion, the nicely equipped from the outset. Should we have bought one, we had hardly spent a lot of money on accessories. It is because the package we like, not necessarily topping (like the old-fashioned screen controls).

If we’d spent a little extra, we had focused on increasing sports and driving experience: A sport package with sport, short shifter and motorlydtuning and definitely the good, swivel bixenonlysene. In addition, perhaps partial leather / alcantara.

This is the most affordable RCZ edition. Machine costs 30,000 pounds – that we had not chosen to add. A version with 200 hp costs from 455.000 million, with two-liter diesel with 163 hp the cost of 402.000 million. The latter’s performance, you can read about here (in the pre-facelift edition).

Of these variations we had chosen just the smallest petrol engine. Here we find the relationship between sportiness and price is best, although diesel cars use slightly less fuel and is just as fast.

Consumption: 5

Peugeot RCZ 1.6 THP with 156 hp is given to using 0.64 l / mil combined.

Our regular test run of 20 mil stuff it with a little less than that. We get 0.6 l / mil as a result.

of cars that we have categorized under “sports”, only with diesel RCZ who spent less (0.53 l / mil). Several cars with higher consumption benefits RCZ with gasoline turbo matches well.

consumption is also lower than for example a VW Golf 1.4 TSI and several other common compact cars with roughly comparable gasoline turbo engine.

Conclusion: 5

The main character is not an average of all the marks, but an expression of how the car overall compared to the competition at the time the test was conducted. Here you can read how to set grades.

Peugeot RCZ 1.6 THP is a car we will be happy to run. Here you will get lots of sense of speed and sportiness in a package that looks very good.

engine suitable for Norwegian speed and duty ratio, and in addition, consumption is relatively low, but we could have wished us a little lower gear ratio. Suspension setup can be in excess fixed for daily use.

Screen Operation is a weak point on the test vehicle, and had not spent the extra money to buy this.
