Now go Jaguar Land Rover to war against copy-car – ABC News

The Chinese automakers have become notorious for simply copying and stealing designed by well-known car models.

Cars like the BMW X5 and Range Rover Evoque is among those who have been subjected to the Chinese urge to simply copy a western design, instead of creating a new self.

But now one company has had enough, namely Jaguar Land Rover. According to a source that is very close to it all, the Jaguar Land Rover now suing Jiangling Motor, behind Evoque copy Landwind X7.

A more blatant copying of design, automotive perhaps never seen. So this is the Landwind X7.

Bad odds

The legal process should be started, with all that it contains of bureaucracy and paperwork to the courts in the eastern Chaoyang district. Normally it sits deep in a Western company, to go to trial against a Chinese company in China, since the odds of winning are extremely small.

Here you get luxury for little money

judiciary are in fact known to protect the country’s own firms, and here is indeed the main reason that Chinese carmakers have copied western designs for vehicles intended for the Chinese market. Chances of being “taken” has in fact been virtually zero.

One other factor that has alarmed western carmakers, is that any legal proceedings aimed at a Chinese brand can cause negative PR in the hugely important Chinese market. For the public’s part, it may seem that western imperialist bully business, against a local Chinese car companies.

Things takes time

Should Jaguar Land Rover end up winning the lawsuit, it may cause several other western automobile manufacturers resort to similar steps. But a trial will take its time. Honda spent 12 years trying to win a lawsuit against a Chinese Honda CR-V replica, and got only 16 million yuan in compensation (20 million). The lawsuit was really 300 million yuan (375 million).

This is cool but creepy used car

Landwind X7 came on the market in November 2014 and received much criticism for its almost outright copying of the Range Rover Evoque, which already existed in the Chinese market. The two cars are extremely similar in design, the main difference lies in that the Landwind’s grill is a little rounder than the Range Rover’s.

Koster third

But also it can be fixed at, for one gets naturally acquired Range Rover grill and Land Rover brands to put on its Landwind X7, so the similarity almost 100 per cent. Under the shell and interior are Landwind a great deal easier in technology and materials, and costs 1/3 of a Evoque.

When the car arrived, Ranger Rover just opened a factory in China for the production of Evoque, which as did the timing extra unfortunate. At that time did not Jaguar Land Rover anything and stated that since there are no laws for or against like that in China, there was no point in undertaking any other.

But now one has apparently had enough . So time will tell what the outcome of this trial will be. If you surf back Broom on a 12-15 years time, you might get to read what the verdict will be.

This will not Mercedes sell anymore
