has secured agreements with the major music companies.
Today, Google is likely to pull one or two music services out of the hat, writes the Guardian website. There are already many rumors circulated about a potential music service from Google, but some new details should now be clear.
We now have in place agreements with both Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment for both YouTube and Google Play, writes the Guardian. From before they got a deal with Warner Music Group, and therefore all the three largest companies in place.
to have a solid catalog in the back is essential for a flow service, and with the recent agreements in place everything should be clear to Google.
I have not even wanted to comment on the rumors about the two music services.
Releasing today
The launch is therefore expected to take place today at the conference Google I / O 2013. Most likely it will be sometime during the opening speech, which begins at 17.00 Norwegian time.
It is not an easy market that Google may throw out in. From before we pour services like Spotify, Rdio, Deezer and WIMP and buy services like iTunes and Amazon MP3. This does not prevent a giant like Google. Search giant has in fact a couple of aces up its sleeve: YouTube and Google Play.
YouTube is one of the web’s most popular services, m with over one billion visitors every month. Google Play is on their side in place in a number of smartphones worldwide, using the Android operating system.
The two services that I most likely launch will be based on these two platforms.
most similar to Spotify
Apparently Google’s music services will look a lot like Spotify. You will typically be able to stream music down to both computers and mobile devices.
According to the New York Times, there will be no space for stowaways on Google music service – you do not pay, you do not.
price of the service is not known, but most probably end up prices around where Spotify has settled, ie around 10 U.S. dollars in the United States, or about 100 dollars here in Norway.
Not everyone is as happy with the subscription model
