3D printers could soon be in the public domain with prices like this. The fledgling company Pirate3D has announced it will soon launch a Kickstarter campaign to sell their 3D printer for the tidy sum of $ 347 – about 2000 million.
Cheaper than most
Sure, we’ve seen cheap 3D printers before, but nothing we’ve seen before at this price point comparable to Pirate3D printer “The Buccaneer.”
This fellow will in fact not only be delicious to look at, but can reportedly print devices in the same quality as the market leader MakerBot cheapest printer. The difference is that the MakerBot printer costs $ 2000, that is over 11 000.
Buccaneer can print with an accuracy of 100 microns at a rate of 50 millimeters per second. It can be connected to your PC or mobile phone via Wi-Fi, and is made of steel.
Soon ready for Kickstarter
Given that it’s about 9000 dollars cheaper than MakerBot’s competitor, it is not inconceivable that the final product will be of the best quality, but purely Specs wise it looks promising. The creators have posted a ton of pictures on Pirate3D-its website, and writes on his blog that they are working to start a Kickstarter campaign.
