Alligators have several dentition. Now scientists hope that the people in the future can get something similar.
American alligators can get up to 50 sets new teeth. Humans are notoriously blessed with only one, but it may now change.
A group of scientists from China, Taiwan and the United States have studied how alligators are able to reproduce new teeth naturally, writes NRK.
researchers believe that it should be possible that people in the future could replace teeth in “natural” way when for various reasons, leaving the mouth, it goes up by a scientific article that is published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

keyword is stem cells, and a type of connective tissue called the dental lamina. These collagens are also in humans, but when that child loses milk teeth are also most of the dental lamina gone.
It’s therefore not in alligators, who mysteriously manage to get stem cells in the dental lamina to be stimulated to constantly make new teeth.
How this property can be transferred to humans, however, scientists completely on target.
