reducing gradually the Microsoft boss tells about the flop.
On Friday declared Steve Ballmer that he steps down as Microsoft CEO. Over the next 12 months, Microsoft will find a successor, Steve Ballmer’s 13 years long period in chief role will be over.
In an interview with ZDNet, he admits that there is especially one thing he would have missed in his 13 years at the helm.
Regret Vista ??h4>
during his time in managerial chair Ballmer has been on tons of product launches, but it should be one that really stands out from the rest, as he bitterly regrets – Windows Vista ??em>. In an interview with ZDNet, he refers to the Longhorn / Vista launch as one big mess.
– It’s probably what I regret the most. And, as you know, there are repercussions when you unlock a huge team to do something that turns out to be valuable.
Operating everyone will hide
When Windows Vista was released was the slaughter of almost all reviewers. The operating system had high system requirements, and even those with a reasonably new PC to upgrade to access more of the operating system functions. In addition, you are asked again and again if you were completely sure you would reinstall the application you tried to install, because of the hated “User Account Control”.
Combined with a number of niggles that got Vista to hang out the whole time, Vista is often described as the worst Windows launch Microsoft has ever had.
successor Windows 7 was a much bigger success, with very many jumped on the upgrade option from Vista, but it’s still not that Ballmer is proudest of his time at Microsoft. What he should have put the most was the impact he has had on people’s lives. He points to the fact that he played an important role in the “start of smart computers” through 80 – and 90′s.
