More details about Samsung Gear has leaked online.
Samsung has already confirmed that they will release a smart watch next week, but what it looks like, what it does and how it works, they have not said a peep about.
Now, however Evleaks leaked a few screen shots of what is purportedly the control tag of Samsung gear.
Control clockwise from mobile
According to the pictures it thus seems clock will be set up via an app on your phone, which allows you to select the type of clock, load new applications and “find time”.
The images also show that the easiest way to connect your mobile phone to watch the NFC and Bluetooth, but you can also pair the two devices manually.
Lite info so far
Pretty much more than that we do not know. It is still unclear whether Samsung Gear Clock will support applications outside Samsung’s application store, and if you can download apps directly from the watch.
Howclock will look like, what kind of specifications it wants and when it shows up in the store is of course completely unknown. The only hint we have previously been in the form of a patent application by Samsung, which shows a real leak smart clock design.
According to the website AmongTech Galaxy Gear will offer the following specifications:
- 2.5-inch touch-sensitive OLED display, 320 x 320 pixels
- 10 hours battery life
- dual core processor with 1.5 GHz clock frequency
- 4 megapixel camera, 720p video
- speakers bracelet
- accelerometer
- Bluetooth 4.0 LE
- Android Jelly Bean
- 1GB memory
- Two models with either 8 or 6 GB of internal storage
It is of course impossible to verify these specifications and according AmongTech the information comes from a variety of sources working at a Samsung store in Texas. The information should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

research company Juniper believe the market for smart watches will grow tremendously in the coming years, and that in 2018 will be sold at 36 million smart watches a year. Although there have been smart watches on the market even earlier, including Sony, Juniper believes that it will be Samsung and Apple that will really accelerate market.
– By educating consumers in this product segment, Apple and Samsung clearly act as a catalyst. In addition to that, they have great influence, those entering the market for the benefit of existing players – and increase awareness and increase the use of other “wearable devices,” says Nitin Bhasa in Juniper.
Juniper still think that smart watches are going to remain a niche product with a relatively limited market potential, at least compared to tablets and smart phones.
