Facebook is stepping up the war against the “Adblock” – journalist

So-called Adblock services prevents the display of online advertising, leading to big losses for companies that sell ads.

In a blog writes Facebook that the future is going to use new technology to circumvent advertising blockages. Thus, users with Adblock software still have to see advertising when they visit the social network.

– Some Adblock companies receive money for showing commercials they previously blocked – a practice that is at best confusing to people, and reducing funding for journalism and other free services that we use on the web, according to the post, which is penned by deputy director of Facebook’s advertising and business platform Andrew Bosworth.

initially apply the new advertising regime on Facebook for PC users. Facebook app is already immune to advertising blocking, while mobile users who visit Facebook through the browser can still use Adblock.
