Mazda will offer three versions of its SKYACTIV-G petrol engine. 2-liter 145 horsepower with a manual gearbox and 2-liter 165 horsepower, this comes with both manual transmission and automatic. Moreover, a 2.5-liter 192 horsepower, with assault.

The diesel engine is available in two versions: 2.2-liter 150 horsepower with manual transmission and 175 horsepower with the automatic.

The diesel engine comes with three new systems to improve throttle response and reduce engine noise: it involves, for example to improve charge pressure control to sharpen throttle response. A new type of shock-absorbing coupling between the piston and advise reduce diesel knocking during acceleration at low revs. Mazda Natural Sound Frequency Control varies the engine’s injection timing to neutralize pressure waves, which thus dampens three critical frequencies where motor components typically vibrate loudest.
