The latest figures from Telenor.
Over 100 seniors with iPads forearm is the “Internet for all” courses organized by Telenor and Pensioners Association under Arendalsuka.
It is good mood around the table in Arendal, but new statistics from Telenor paints a more bleak picture of how Norwegians look at the technological future.
– I have resisted very long, but I get the forced into on the Internet. Such courses are needed, for now supposed to all on the Internet, says Konrad Gunnersen from Arendal which is one of the seniors who hope he can learn more in the next few days.
Digital Divide
the CEO of Telenor Norway Berit Svendsen seems for many Norwegians are afraid of the technological future.
– we have to do something with those numbers, she says and adds:
– High’ve become more and more a human right, and we in Norway is the leader in internet use, says Svendsen.
the survey also shows that seven out of ten Norwegians fear a digital Divide.
– We are in danger of someone coming to to exploit these opportunities, and someone is going to lag behind, says Telenor CEO.
Teacher Norway iT
the course in Arendal is not the first held under the auspices of Telenor.
– We need to get out information about the use of internet, technology should be available for all. We organized 500 courses last year, and we will continue to arrange courses in the future, says Svendsen.
She has been present at several courses, and says there is no question that recurs.
– most people I talk to want answers on how they can book train and air tickets online, and read newspapers.
and despite possible gloomy outlook, looking Gundersen advances by first day on the course.
– it’s kinda fun if we can get hold of it, smiles Gundersen.
