Pushing for simplification – Dagens Næringsliv

Better collaboration between business and government is required to exploit new technology and digitization is happening in society. Rule Simplification is central.

CEO Sandra Riise of Norway Autorisertes Accountants Association, NARF shows that we are in a huge reorganization. NARF has advocated regulatory simplification, but have not always been happy with the authorities.

Profile 1. Several governments have had rule simplification of the program. You were such not particularly happy a year ago, when the government would reduce the retention period for accounting from ten to five years?

– No. Only the case took eight years to get approved. It kept on going totally wrong, so that only part of the financial statements could be discarded. Now we come to where we are going. It also took several years to remove statutory audit for the smallest limited companies. All industry ministers have talked about rule simplifications, but there has been a lot of party speeches. Aps Trond Giske got done much and now shows good government measures that we hope will continue.

2. Now we are in a process that affects the entire community?
