(Dagbladet): Microsoft has unveiled its freshest weapon in the battle for mobile buyers: Nokia 215.
Will fight back
Finnish Nokia was long superior in the mobile market.
When Apple launched the iPhone in 2007, no one assumed that trademark would pose a real danger to the well-established company in its best years sold over 400 million phones a year.
In 2003 traded mobile division to Nokia for over 23 billion euros and had a profit of nearly six billion euros. In the first quarter 2014 before Microsoft completed the acquisition of Nokia’s mobile division, the company went with 239 million euros in minus.
Now we hope the once popular mobile manufacturer to again become a player to be reckoned with. The aim is that the affordable Nokia 215 phone will help to increase market share in Asia, Middle East and Africa, writes the Independent.
The phone costs under 225 Norwegian kroner and comes with an Opera Mini browser and Facebook Messenger. It is possible to use Twitter and other apps on your phone, writes the Independent.
Long life
The phone is still far from a Rolls Royce model, with its 320 x 240 pixel display.
Mobile camera has 0.3 megapixels and flashlight is among the most fancy phone can offer.
Just the lack of advanced equipment will be among its large forces.
According to Microsoft, which last April acquired the rights to Nokia mobile business, has namely phone one battery life of up to 29 days unless it is on “stand-by”. Talk time will be in 20 hours.
