This is how we avoid driving at cyclists.

Anyone who has driven a car or rode knows that motorists and cyclists very often are not some very good combination.

There is little that creates so much frustration, conflict, accidents and especially accidents that this Klinsj that occurs when two- and four-wheeled meet in traffic.

Volvo first

This Volvo has been with itself. And more than that – they will try to do something about it too.

Security’ve been Volvo’s showpiece for many years. Now they are working on a system to prevent accidents between cyclists and motorists. In any case, those of motorists running Volvo, like that in the first place.

There is reason to believe that more manufacturers will adopt this technology eventually. But Volvo is first.

Appears in very near future

The innovation will first appear on the international Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in early January.

The system Briefly goes out, is that car and bike communicate together using bidirectional communication.

There is a transmitter in the helmet of the rider that can send out information captured by cars nearby. The upcoming Volvo XC90 is the first vehicle this will be tested in.

What with motorcycles?

The technology provided by Swedish Eriksson and the producer POC (known protective to sports) that delivers bike helmet.

Bicycle helmet will make the car – thus motorist – note that the cyclist is there, even if the driver can not see him. For example, because he or she is around a street corner or the like.

We praise so clearly the new technology, while we requested when something similar will emerge for motorcycles. They come fast and also can be difficult to spot in a hectic traffic pattern.
