-Playstation 4 are better for gaming, but inferior to much else - Bergens Tidende

Playstation 4 will be launched officially in Norway on Friday 29 November, but the game site Gamer.no has already spent some days with Sony’s new gaming console.

While the Playstation 3 was hyped as a supercomputer with a focus on entertainment, shopping Playstation 4 in the game. Everything is focused around gaming experience, from the user interface to the paucity of media features, writes journalist in Gamer.no, Audun Rodem

He believes that Sony really has bet everything on one card, and that it benefits those who are primarily looking to play.

Kaffe Controller

Rodem believes the new Dual Shock controller 4 which has undergone many changes compared to its predecessors, the firepower strong.

– For the first time since Sony introduced the Dual Shock controller for the PlayStation in 1997 has changed significantly in design. “Start” – and “select” buttons are planed off and replaced with “share” – and “options” buttons located near the top of the middle section. It has also got a touch touchpad ala those found on laptops, explains Rodem.

Dual Shock 4 impresses with its improvements, and after a few days of playing it sits mostly like a shot. The controller is much more comfortable than their ancestors, and is a big part of what makes the experience of the Playstation 4 is distinguished from Playstation 3

-Nothing media

The new user interface and screen menus also falls in taste, but some media are the PS4 However, according Gamer.no.

As the media seems so far Playstation 4 particularly attractive. Except to offer access to services like Netflix stream and playback via Sony’s Music and Video Unlimited services, there are no opportunities to play your own files. Nor streaming files over the network from another machine. Though these are properties that can be added in later updates

Blu-ray and DVD playback is all well and good, but that external hard drives can not be used for media storage and playback of files makes me scratch my head. Possibly, Sony had haste and focused on the important things first, and perhaps this comes in later updates, wondering Rodem.

Gamer.no concludes that the PlayStation 4 is currently a functional machine that is tailor-made for gaming, and not much more. Maybe it enough?
