For those who do not want to wait for the official launch.
Google has just showcased its latest operating system, Android 4.4 KitKat. The operating system offers tons of new features, including touchless voice control, new apps and a brand new home screen.
Now site Droid Life revealed that they have managed to pick out some of the new apps from a Nexus 5, and made them available for download. Thus, you do not have to wait for your Nexus 5 will arrive in the mail, or that the rest of the phone vendors update their software to Android 4.4.

whole list of KitKat apps you can download can be found at Droid Life. According to the website there are only a handful of apps that feels really new out, while most only got a slight graphical overhaul and a few new features.
The biggest changes you’ll find in Google Homepage, thus the new home screen, Google Search, the new search feature with support for automatic Voice Search, and the new clock and keyboard. They can be downloaded below.

Please note that this is not officially released by Google, and that you install apps at your own risk. It may well be that they will not work well with Sense and TouchWiz, or Cyanogenmod, for that matter.
