The Russian authorities stated that the large military exercise that has been going on in many places in the country this week, now is closed.
Lieutenant General Andrei Kartapolov informs on Saturday that military units around the country have been ordered to return to the bases they are normally stationed at.
President Vladimir Putin gave Monday ordered the exercise, which was it’s the Russian Armed Forces have had in several years. 80,000 soldiers from all weapons branches participated and exercise stretched from the Black Sea in the west, to the Arctic Ocean in the north and the Pacific Ocean to the east.
The extensive military exercise has been closely observed in the West and NATO has lately increased their exercise activities near Russia, including in the Baltics.
The crisis in Eastern Ukraine has led to the relationship between the West and Russia are at their most frigid since the Cold War.
