– I’m the luckiest in the world. I was born and raised in Stavanger and live 50 percent here and 50 percent in San Francisco.
Stavanger Mayor Christine Sagen Helgø (H) smiles while Lasse Andresen tells about himself. It is not the first time he speaks with media in Norway, but in comparison to what he has got, so do not have 53-year-old received much attention in their home country.
Andresen is a “normal” man from Forus , with three children in the house at Gausel in Stavanger. And so he is one of the leaders in IT company Forgerock with over 400 employees and is headquartered in San Francisco. Andresen started the company with five employees in 2010.
– We have ten offices in different countries, says Andresen, who today is the technical director (CTO) of the company.

Andresen has worked with how San Francisco to develop as smartby.
– I led the group that had to do with security. Identity verification and privacy are fundamental in a smartby, says Andresen.
That’s why he helped Mayor Christine Sagen Helgø and Stavanger to access a larger smartbykonferanse in San Francisco next week.
– It is an honor that we, as one of relatively few cities have come to the mayor of San Francisco and tell how we work as smartby, she said.
Unmanned vehicles
Stavanger has in recent years focused on becoming a smarter city.
– Smartby is something that is hard to explain, but it’s about combining including services and technology, says Sagen Helgø.
