Olav Nils Sunde will build hybrid ferry – Sunnmørsposten

Sunde ferry shipping company, Color Line, has within a few years invested around eight billion in new ships, terminals, environment and technology on their lines to Germany and Denmark. Now the route between Vestfold and Bohuslän for tour, reports Dagbladet with Finansiavisen as the source.

The ship is currently on the drawing board, but it will replace Color Lines oldest car and passenger ferry “Bohus” in 2020. On board there will be space for 2,000 passasjerer.Flere shipyard has offered the construction of the 160 meter long ship, and according Kleivdal the company has now a “shortlist” of the most appropriate. He confirmed that Norwegian yards are among these, but will not say anything more about building price than that we are talking about a billion investment.

Executive Vice President Helge Otto Mathisen says to smp.no said Norwegian shipyard that is in able to build a so large ferry.

– I reckon that we take a stand to shipyards before Christmas. Then we will also have an option for a to, but building it is located further ahead, says Mathisen to smp.no.
