Researchers have investigated what you should do to get new followers.
Eric Gilbert from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his colleagues have analyzed half a million Twitter messages, said Forskning.no. Now they feel that they can come with a few scientific advice to follow hungry tweeters out there:
– Do not write about yourself
– Be positive
– Take a little quiet with hash-tags
analysis of messages from over 500 tweeters, written over 15 months, shows that just the three factors above may have strong correlation with the number of followers. Gilbert explains:
People interested in information. Tweets that contain information seems to attract 30 times more followers than messages about tweeters themselves.
And then you remember that social ties on Twitter generally weak. Most people are not so keen negative input of sickness, death or unemployment, and does not take a dime to dump you if there is too much darkness in the messages.
