Samsung Galaxy S4 is here. The only phone that can show your popularity on par with the Iphone. It can all the others, and a lot of things competitors can not. After a week’s test drive impressions are many and varied.

Design
Samsung Galaxy S4 is almost almost identical S3. And S3 won any design awards. Samsung has received much criticism for his choice of glossy plastic covers of S3 and S4. Technically covers have good ability to protect the electronics, but when you pay over 5000 dollars for a phone would be like to have something exclusive. S4 has neither beauty, exclusivity or a feeling of solidity. I think the aesthetic expression of S4 is a fundamental skivebom, especially compared to the competition Iphone 5, HTC One and Sony Xperia Z.

Multimedia
Samsung has released S4 a proper camera, which maintains a high quality and are fun to play with. The pictures are on the 13 mega pixels and it has come to a number of new features.

Performance
Galaxy S4 will be made in two versions. One has quad-core processor at 1.9 GHz. The second has an eight core processor. Test our unit has four cores. In our performance measurements S4 is up there with the best, but excels not as significantly more powerful than others. Either way, the power of this version is more than enough to everything you can use a phone to date.

battery can easily last a full day, and I feel they have more capacity in the evening than with some other phones. But capacity is not good enough for two full days of some use.

Sensors
Samsung is all about sensors and innovations in hardware. S4 has plenty of that. You can turn on and off a lot of features to customize the experience that suits you.

Some features have been featured part before. For example, automatic scrolling of pages based on your eye movement. These are very bad for me. Another function is to roll the pages by gesticulate in front of the phone instead of tapping the screen. This works in the car and if you have gloves on, so the function is not completely useless.

Air Display is a function which will bring up a menu of options if you hold your finger over a point on the screen without touching it. Tips and ideas I found no use for the feature, but it could come with time.

summary, I believe that’s not enough to choose this phone based on sensors alone.

Pick and choose: Turn off and on the features you like. Fortunately, it’s easy to fix.

User
Like the HTC One also has Samsung added infrared remote control with a dedicated app for program guide. This works also for Norwegian channel packages and can be an ok supplement to other remotes. It is very easy to use to record TV guide on your phone and then be able to change the channel by pressing it you will see. The app can also be used to create notifications for upcoming programs. Based on what you have seen, it can also recommend programs.

The overall user experience of Samsung is less unique and engaging than what Sony and HTC delivers. There is not as much polish on menus, icons and functions. But it is far from bad either.

All apps Samsung has included is thorough and good. Samsung has made pains to make small notification windows that both explains the consequences and come with tip. Quite useful on a phone that “everything”.

E-mail and calendar works perfectly and can be used without modification of even the most demanding users.

Conclusion
Samsung Galaxy S4 much we have not seen before, especially in sensor use. Still feels not particularly innovative. Get the news has a significant impact on how we use your phone as compared to before.

When design also must endure some criticism, my conclusion is that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a very good phone, but it is not very engaging. For the same price you get top models that are much more fun to use and is much nicer to look at.

My advice is to look good on the competition before choosing smart phones this year.

Design 4	Just like its predecessor. Pretty dull in appearance, looks far from out as a top model. Plastic covers protect may well, but a sense of exclusivity should follow the price tag. screen is very good, as expected by Samsung.
Multimedia 6	Nothing to put my finger on here. A great camera with lots of fun features may be important. The screen is excellent for watching movies on, and the sound quality is good, with built-in equalizer to adjust the sound with. sound quality of calls is good, you can even choose different profiles to filter out noise.
Performance 5	Test Your phone is quad-core version of S4. It is at the top of what we’ve tested, but not particularly distinguished. When an abundance of performance in S4, here goes everything without unnecessary waiting. battery is good to sit in such a powerful phone with a large screen. It lasts more than a full day, but no two if you are an active user.
price 4	5000 dollars on the web. This has established itself as the standard price point for top models. Would like to see it a little lower, especially since Samsung does not pays for a more exclusive experience of its top model.
use 5	Well-organized and highly recognizable to anyone who knows Samsung already. Not as polished user experience that HTC have, but S4 has certainly some features users will appreciate. Not least, many intelligent alerts which saves battery and unnecessary printing. All sensors Samsung has posted can often be just as much in the way of benefit. Fortunately, they are easy to turn off, it’s just to test them out and then use the ones you want.
