invitation by e-mail no longer necessary.
A new version of Google Maps is on the way, and it was first shown off at Google I / O conference in San Francisco between 15 and 17 May. So far it has been possible to sign up and wait for an invitation by e-mail to try out the fresh release, but now test version of the new Google Maps has been opened to everyone.
Those who enter the maps.google.com / preview are also to be checked out what new features and changes Google has made to its mapping service, and I guess it really just to throw himself into it.
White roads
New Google Maps has a new user interface and a renewed look at the map. The sidebar on the left is gone and the traditional yellow roads have turned white. It is worth noting that this latter cosmetic change also appears to have come into the “old” Google Maps. Major roads and highways are still orange.
Another thing we’ve noticed is that the new version of Maps not glide as smoothly and seamlessly as the previous one. This may be attributable to the service is still in a test phase.

It is mentioned several new features in place, and most of these are intended to provide you with more relevant information about the product you are looking for.
search area got a little upgrade, and remember include your last search phrases, provides quick access to directions and also contribute with information about the traffic situation. For example, search for “sushi, Oslo,” and see how it’s sushi restaurants directly on the map.
When you press the appropriate icon on the map brings up info cards – which, incidentally, has replaced the old sidebar. These displays useful information about the business, as well as reviews and ratings. You can also get directions and store the result.
Carousel lower right shows areas of interest or Google Street View imagery of your current location on the map. These can be pressing to get down to street level.
The new map service is thus a beta version yet, and Google says that they would like to have your feedback and criticism they can get.
