University sues Apple for patent infringement - Computerworld

Boston University goes to court against Apple, accusing the company of patent infringement. The University requires sales stop at several Apple products, and compensation from Apple. It writes Computerworld’s news service.

According to the lawsuit, a professor at the University owning a patent on a technology for semi-sharers. University claims Apple uses this patented technology in the production of iPhone 5, iPad and Macbook Air.

Apple is not the only company that is alleged to have infringed the relevant patent. Boston University has also sued both Samsung and Amazon over the past year.

According to analysts who spoke with the Boston Herald, Apple may risk having to pay $ 75 million if the company were to lose the case.
