Norman Shark solgt - Computerworld

Blue Coat Systems does not deny that they will be embarking on Norman Sharks technology, such as the sandbox, for integration into their Blue Coat products.

It is not the first time the companies’ paths cross. For exactly one month ago today it was announced that Blue Coat signed an agreement with Norman who gave malware analysis program Blue Coat Content Analysis System. CEO of Blue Coat, David Murphy says that future Shark technology will be better integrated after the acquisition.

– The acquisition is technology sharing and building up our capabilities, he told Computerworld’s news service.

The long-term intention to scrutinize Norman Shark brand in favor of Blue Coat.

Norman Shark was originally part of the Norman, but was split into independent business orientated company in January this year to specialize their niche with threat detection, security analysis and ICS protection.

Blue Coat itself was bought for $ 1.3 billion of investment company Thoma Bravo in February 2012, and has since also turned their hands on companies that Netronome, Crossbeam Systems and Solera Networks.
