Opens Scandinavia new super hospital – NRK

– Here we have everything we need of emergency equipment to a poor patient, says Lars Petter Møller, intensive care nurse at the new ER, adopting new and modern solutions when it opens.

  • 1985: The County Council resolved that the five føde¬avdelingene in Østfold would gather in the Central Hospital in Fredrikstad. Implementation took place from 1985 to 1988.

  • 1990: Østfold central hospital was established, and hospitals in Fredrikstad and Sarpsborg were gathered under one management.

  • 1996: Surgical emergency preparedness was changed from five to two locations (Moss and Fredrikstad).

  • 1998: Østfold Hospital was established on 1 January, through to merge Moss hospital, Indre Østfold hospital, Halden hospitals and Østfold central hospital.

  • 1999: All emergency operations were gathered in Fredrikstad and Moss, while the offer in Halden, Sarpsborg and Askim was organized for planned activities.

  • 2001: Specialist Centre with 30 clinics opened in Sarpsborg.

  • 2002: 1 January changer hospital owner from county to state.

  • 2003: Mental health services in Østfold samorganiseres with somatic and becomes part of the Østfold Hospital.

  • 2003: Anaesthetic intensive outpatient surgery established in Specialist Centre in Sarpsborg.

  • 2004: orthopedic surgery in Østfold gather in Fredrikstad and Moss, and the orthopedic business ceases in Halden.

  • 2005: Rehabilitation Unit in Askim operations transferred to Sunnaas hospitals, and entire buildings in Askim transmitted simultaneously.

  • 2007: All emergency surgery gather in Fredrikstad, while scheduled operations primarily in orthopedics developed in Moss.

  • 2007: All acute psychiatry gather at Veum and DPS Fredrikstad moved to Cicignon, Fredrikstad.

  • 2008: Halden clinic opens. The former local hospital is completely renovated and includes district psychiatric center.

  • The Board of South-East approves concept for new østfold hospital with new hospital on Kalnes, continuation of Østfold Hospital Moss and local DPS

  • 2009: The Board of South-East decides to launch the pilot project phase for new østfold hospital

  • 2010: The Board of Østfold Hospital adopts that emergency functions in the future should be collected on Kalnes and recommends to the

  • Health South East that the new hospital will be built with private.
    State Budget for 2011 will be presented with a borrowing limit for new østfold hospital

  • The board of health South- East decides to start construction of a new hospital at Kalnes

  • 2015: The new hospital on Kalnes is completed built

  • 2015-16: The new hospital on Kalnes commissioned. Hospitals Operations in Fredrikstad, Sarpsborg and Veum abolished.

He shows acute wagon that have standardized equipment, which is the same throughout the hospital.

– It is absolutely amazing, there are almost no words for how good it is. Logistics and having an entirely new order in our own house, are very good.

The price tag is six billion to buildings of 85,000 square meters. 3600 rooms and an emergency unit with quick access to all expertise.

Peder Hoem has trained employees who will accept patients with the greatest damage. In the new reception center can now accommodate two trauma patients at the same time.

– The logistics are different. Now we bring expertise and good practices from the old hospital, the new and modern solutions here at Kalnes in Sarpsborg.

– The output which goes straight to the helicopter landing, pointing hospital director Just Ebbesen. He says the emergency room is a good example of how to plan around the new hospital.

– We were based on what the future patient will need. We’re not talking just about the single rooms, but the way we share information with our patients, how we deal with unresolved states and how we have to think in order to get faster to a proper diagnosis. That is what is basically here, he explains.

The aim has been to give patients privacy when they are ill.

– Firstly we have only single rooms, and it makes that the patient gets better monitoring. There is less risk of infection and patients are more sheltered, he said.

New technology should ensure that the hospital staff has full control over the patients.

– We will be able to monitor and track patients in entirely new ways, providing a greater degree of security. Employees are also empowered to share and give information much faster. It has been adapted to make it working interdisciplinary and holistic.

At the emergency room is Lars Petter Møller ready to meet the new patients.

– We are very excited now, you see all running around like in an anthill, but this we look forward to, he said.



FIRST INSERT: Here are broke ground taken by Jens Stoltenberg on Kalnes. In December 2010 it was decided to build the new hospital.
