Went all the way in FIRST LEGO League – Varden

 22 Norwegian cities gathered today over 4500 children and young people to regional finals in knowledge tournament FIRST LEGO League, which aims to increase interest in technology and science in children and young people.

 In Skien there was a team from Lunde elementary, Lunde Smart Learners, who won the ticket to Scandinavian final after winning both the Research Award and FIRST LEGO League Champions.

 FLL held for the fifteenth time, and this year’s theme is highly relevant today; future waste management.

 In the finals competed students on prices in marketing, teamwork, technology and research, as well as today’s highlight – robot competition, where teams steered a separate layer of LEGO robot through an obstacle course.



 Won the greatest prize

 The winner of the regional final in Skien was Lunde Smart Learners who won the title FIRST LEGO League Champions after winning both the Research Award and FIRST LEGO League Champions.

 Lunde Smart Learners is a layer of 6 girls and 9 boys between 10 and 11 years. The team has one supervisor, are affiliated Lunde elementary school and have been doing FLL since 2004.I Skien participated 11 teams in the regional finals.

 They go so on, along with 22 other Norwegian teams, to the Scandinavian finals which will be held on Saturday 28 November, Mo i Rana.



 Tomorrow’s engineers and scientists

 FIRST LEGO League, in close cooperation with Statoil, wants to arouse interest in science through real issues that resembles the real working life. Therefore contains knowledge tournament bathe professional and personal development through cooperative and practical learning. The idea is that early awareness of science and technology can contribute to a choice of education towards that direction. Therefore recruits to tomorrow’s engineers and scientists.

These features we also find among the participants in the FIRST LEGO League.
