17:59 - We lose money on Bank ID - Today it

Today announced BankID plans for his next, java free, sign-on solution. According to the company, it will however not be talking about some new solution is in place and ready for use before ‘in 2014. “

For online retailers, this is not fast enough. They find that many customers turn to checkout every day.

– We need good, customized solutions and a positive dialogue with the banks and the Bank ID Norway. But we are impatient and see that we are losing revenue at current Bank ID solution, says communications director Ingebjørg Tollnes at Komplett AS.

Statistics from credit card companies shows that in EU countries is interrupted on average 23 percent of all commenced online trades before they are finished. In Norway the number is around twice as high.

– This fits well with our own experiences. Exactly how much of this is due to 3-D Secure is unknown, but the number is about twice as high as in countries with different security solutions, says CFO Live Haukvik Aker Complete AS DN.no.

3-D Secure is the name of the solution, which means that many customers must identify chip code and identify with BankID to shop at online stores. Do not code chip available, or trying to shop from a tablet or smartphone, you do not charge.

Fast cell growth
At Complete the number of visitors to your online store using smartphone or tablet doubled over the past six months.

– 20 percent of our visits are from mobile devices, but payment solutions are not, says Tollnes.

Already in October 2012 Complete sent a letter to the Bank ID, where they explained that the solution did not work well and called for an alternative solution that all users could use.

– There are plenty of competitors to BankID which tries to sell us alternative solutions. But there’s no denying Bank ID as long as it is the only way some banks support, says Aker.

Feels bad
Although the new Bank ID solution is quite far away yet – and not formally approved by BankID owners – so the situation will hopefully be better for online retailers in 2013. In addition to Vang Bank ID code with chip and Java logon Bank ID has made available a service called Mobile BankID.

This solution, however, requires investments by mobile operators as they need to upgrade your SIM card to all users. So far only been able to offer Telenor Mobile BankID, but now also Tele2 signed a contract with Bank ID to provide the solution.

Bank ID also says that virtually all Norwegian mobile opera ears are now in talks with them to offer BankID for mobile, so that mobile can replace the code chip and you can log on from mobile devices.

– During the year, all Norwegian mobile subscribers can use BankID for mobile phones regardless of operator, said operation and Development Frode Nilsen Bank ID.
