Few vulnerabilities in Opera - DinSide

DinSide In Symantec’s annual threat report for the Internet shows that Norwegian Opera is least susceptible to vulnerabilities among the five most commonly used browsers. A total of 891 vulnerabilities were reported in 2012, compared to 351 years before.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Apple Safari. Also Chrome experienced a sharp increase in the number of reported vulnerabilities since 2011.

Less share IE error

Most surprising perhaps is that Internet Explorer also comes very well out in the report. Only seven percent of the reported vulnerabilities in 2012 came to Internet Explorer, compared with 14 percent the year before. It is remarkable, given that it is still one of the most widely used browsers.

For extension installed in your browser for well over 40 percent of all reported vulnerabilities Java and Flash, according to Symantec.

More happens in the browser

And it is undoubtedly the browser most hackers now see their chance to infect your PC, according to the company.

Keep your PC updated

In order to be better prepared against the latest security holes you should always make sure you have the latest updated version of your browser. Most browsers as well as Java and Flash, now do this automatically, so even if it is found more holes in some browsers than others and also does not necessarily mean that you live unsafe.
