Master student at King Saud University in Riyadh had heart problems in the morning in one of the buildings where female students are located. But it took two hours before emergency personnel were allowed to enter, according to the newspaper Okaz.
staff at the university said that paramedics could not get in because the sick student was “covered” and because men are not allowed to reside in buildings that are for women.
In 2002 it was reported that 15 school girls died in a fire in Mecca because the religious police refused to leave the burning building when they were not adequately covered. The claim was later dismissed in an official report.
