Celebrates New Name with 100 GB of free storage to anyone lucky chosen one.
Microsoft’s cloud storage service has been a sore point for the company for almost a year, when it appeared that the British company BSkyB said they could not use their name. Microsoft announced in January that they would change the name of SkyDrive to OneDrive, and now the change is about to be implemented.
New name, some new features
You can now access the OneDrive.com, although SkyDrive.com work and log in with your Microsoft account. All previous SkyDrive logos for both Windows and Microsoft has now been replaced with “One” instead of “Sky”, although OneDrive.com with us still shows a SkyDrive logo. These little things will probably be fixed in the next few days.
OneDrive offers a few changes compared to its predecessor, so that kameraappen on Android can now be set to automatically upload photos to the cloud service, a feature that has been available on iOS and Windows Phone 8 a long time.
price for OneDrive is natural enough just the same as before the name change. You get 7 GB of free storage, and 3GB of extra storage space if you set up your phone to automatically upload photos to OneDrive.
You can also get additional storage space by recruiting friends to the service.
Get 100 GB of free storage
To celebrate the new name, Microsoft will soon also hand out 100 GB of free storage to the first 100,000 users who register for the new service. Just when the campaign begins’m not quite sure, but Pocket-Lint writes that Microsoft will announce the campaign in the coming days.
It is also available for existing customers will be able to take advantage of the temporary promotion.
