Acquisition is referred to as the Facebook’s biggest investment ever, and the sum is almost exactly 19 times as high as when Facebook bought photo sharing service Instagram in 2012.
Acton used Twitter to express his disappointment after rejection of job application in 2009:
“Facebook rejected me. It was a great opportunity to make acquaintance with some amazing people. Looking forward to life’s next adventure. “
When Brian Acton did not get a job at Facebook, he decided to start their own band together with Jan Koum, a colleague from Yahoo, where they both had worked . Together they formed the messaging service WhatsApp.

Koum originally from Ukraine, and it should have been his experience of the surveillance was going on in the old Soviet Union, which provided the inspiration to create WhatsApp.
Idea was that WhatsApp would be a kind of counterpoint to the totalitarian mindset. Application function should, according to an interview reprinted in The Guardian, is to protect democracy and freedom of speech.
Service has recently exploded in growth, and from April 2013 to the end of the year grew client with 250 million monthly users.
The application allows users to send messages with pictures, sound, video and text for free, as long as one has access to the Internet.
Norwegian experts believe it is the search for new and younger users who lured Facebook to former competitor WhatsApp.
