Jolla distribute a ROM that allows you to replace Android with Sailfish.
Sailfish is a further development of the operating system MeeGo, which Nokia was beginning to develop as the company’s new CEO, Stephen Elop, scrapped every other OS in favor of Windows Phone. Some of the former Nokia employees formed company Jolla, where Nokia’s blessing continued development of MeeGo. The result is the new operating system Sailfish.
Drives already Android apps
short time ago the first Jolla phones with Sailfish on display, and among the properties enough people will appreciate is the ability to run apps written for Android. That means Jolla phones from the first time you run a huge selection of apps.
Nokia switched to Windows Phone 8, just lack of apps has been the main reason why many people have seen Nokia as irrelevant.
Installation-ROM
But if Nokia has lacked apps missing Sailfish mobile phones. Also it can change now. Jolla will in fact develop a ROM you can install on existing Android phones so they can use the Sailfish. To post Sailfish on an Android mobile phone is a fairly simple matter, according Jolla boss Tomi Pienimäki.
Jolla, there is little to gain by giving away the OS, but Pienimäki says the Finnish site Talouselämä, the company will develop solutions and services that can run on Sailfish and mention mobile advertising as a potential revenue stream.
Unclear when the ROM can be ready
So far there has been no information about when a ROM for Android mobiles may be aware, or which services will be unique for Sailfish.
