Energigründere to the final - Ringerikes Sheet

This coming Monday gather energy finalists from around the country for three days of tussle in the technology city of Trondheim.

Nearly 3,500 students from high schools in Norway participated last fall on local entrepreneur camps where they have solved various tasks within energy and climate.

Students Life-Therese Schjetlein, Kristoffer Kvannli, Robin Oskar Brekke, Ingrid Skogeng Hansen and Marthe Boe Rustand from Ringerike high school qualified for the final in Trondheim by being named the best in Buskerud and should therefore represent our county at the National Innovation Camp.

Realistic and innovative

None of the competitors will know in advance what mission they are to compete. The students can then one day in which to work out solutions that both have to be realistic, innovative and forward-looking. In addition to convince the jury, consisting of professionals in energy technology.

It is the sixth consecutive year that Enova and Young Enterprise challenge youth and organizes camp for high school students.

– One of Enova’s most important tasks is to help develop new energy and climate technology. We are facing major challenges relating to energy and climate, and the development of new technologies is essential to meet these. Therefore, Enova wants to inspire and engage those who will make the future Norway, so they have an interest in green entrepreneurship and innovation, says director of Enova, Nils Kristian Nakstad.

youngsters will gather at Charlottenlund high school for three days and have enough to keep fingers (and brain cells) in.

– We hope students participating discover that the combination of science and entrepreneurship is exciting and fun, says Erlend Eggen, general manager of Young Entrepreneurs Buskerud.

After one day of intensive work to find solutions and business plan, six groups of students on the final finals on the third and final day.

Then the youngsters have come to the presented both in front of an audience and a jury of energy experts.

– It will be interesting to hear what solutions youngsters coming up at this year’s mission, says director of Enova, Nils Kristian Nakstad.
