As DN Talent wrote Friday is almost one million Norwegians members on LinkedIn.
Students and fresh workers are the group that is growing the fastest.
Kathe Arnesen who keeps Linkedin courses for students and Norwegian companies have the following tips to young people on LinkedIn:
- Discuss subjects in a group and show that you’re watching. Then you can be visible to the companies you want to work for. LinkedIn is about building his personal brand of subjects. Post link to the subject matter, upload thesis and show what you can
- Follow businesses to get a feel for how it is to work there. Then you can also get information about vacancies.
- not add CEO dreaming now, unless you have real contact. Having a network is not about collecting names on a list, but to be visible in the right contexts. Add also to fellow students, friends, family and everyone you know or meet. If you have a large network will be found by more people seeking the skills you have.
- Be active, professional and market yourself. This is not your network of friends where you will be entertained. It’s a bit like being a member of ELIXIA. It requires active use so that you can benefit from it.
