program has a budget of 3.3 billion until 2018.

Director Ingunn Midttun Godal in Development Secretariat told NTB that modernization program continues, but without the project organization in a separate unit.

– We are all we can to ensure that Nav will reach its ambition of introducing disability reform 1 January 2015, she said.

disability reform is one of the largest ICT development projects in Norway, with a budget of around 750 million in August 2013.

Nav has 57 employees in the part it replaces. These do not work with disability reform.

– none of these will lose their job. Monday we start a process with the goal of finding a solution for each during the week. Some will work on modernization of other units in the Nav while others return to their previous jobs, says Midttun Godal.

Steria pending

IT modernization in Nav is organized by the agency itself is the director of the program, while special retrieved from external suppliers through framework agreements.

IT company Steria is one of the largest suppliers to the program and has several employees with Nav.

– We’ll talk with Nav about the situation that has arisen. We must make do until we can get the public reaction, says marketing director Anders Lindgren, and

Ingunn Midttun Godal said contract dialogue between Nav and providers maintained by the reorganization.

– Adult decision

Agency for Public Management and eGovernment (Difi) was informed of the decision Friday. Deputy Tone Bringedal believes Nav has made an adult decision.

– This is a difficult decision to make when it involves so many people. When you sit on a large implementation responsibilities and begin to recognize that it is not working properly, it is liable to take a breather. Both research and experience show that either have a habit of going too far before stopping, said Bringedal to TU.

The director believes Nav have the best expertise to find the way forward.

– on the other hand, we are interested in later to get details about what they have learned of this, she says.

Demanding

Renovation work in NAV will be very demanding.

– The agency has many old systems from the former agencies to be renewed with new systems and solutions. At the same time we introduce a disability reform with new legislation, a case management system and a self-service solution for users, says Midttun Godal.
