We believe Apple will launch tonight - Hardware.no

The stage is set for the big launch.

Tonight the stage is set for a big release from Apple. The Company has made available nearly three hours to present what is expected to be the last release of products. There is only one month since new iPhone models and iOS 7 was shown, but it is expected U.S. company has a number of new products in the sleeve.

Under the slogan “We still have a lot to cover” we’ll probably get to see two new iPad, new iPods and updated Macs. There are in fact long ago Apple has done something with the MacBook Pro and MacBook Retina, while it is expected that Apple will finally release OS X Mavericks – the operating system that was first showcased in the summer.

Our sister sites Amobil.no will live blog from the event, while the Hardware.no will receive fresh news and tests served throughout the evening.

Here is what we expect Apple will launch tonight:

New Operating System

One of the safest cards before tonight’s presentation is that Apple will release OS X Mavericks. It’s been several months since the operating system was shown off, and 9 October the “Golden Master” release released for developers. This is the latest developer version of the operating system Apple release, and has normally been the final version. Traditionally, the official launch when occurred just weeks after the release, which coincides well with the evening’s presentation – as well as Apple has promised that the Mavericks will be launched in the autumn.

Mavericks come with a host of new and exciting features, and we have already written a great test of the system. OS X is now Apple’s own mapping service, the calendar has been redesigned, Macs are much better multi-monitor support, Explorer “Finder” has gained new features and Apple has made a number of improvements under the hood – to name a few.

mostly around Mavericks is thus already known, but there are a few points that we are not familiar with – including the exact launch date and what it will cost. It is likely that you will be able to buy it this week, if it does not already tonight, and the price will probably be made public. What it is is not certain, but it will probably end up somewhere between 100 and 300.

new MacBook

There are now over 250 days ago Retina MacBook Pro is upgraded. Its little brother, the MacBook Pro is yet worse with. About 500 days is the fact since the last time you could buy a brand new laptop of this type.

Meanwhile, Intel has launched its power-efficient Haswell processors, which Apple was quick to brag when they put them in the MacBook Air in June. Without any special fanfare was also upgraded with Haswell iMac, but both the MacBook Pro and MacBook Pro Retina has been dropped, so it is high time that Apple put in place some new firepower under the hood.

It is expected that the Pro models now get this upgrade, which in itself will lead to better performance and better battery life. In addition, probably the current models also get the new 802.11ac network, which can be up to three times faster than the current standard.

Beyond internal changes, there have appeared some rumors suggesting that Apple will do something about the design of the machines, or changes in the product mix. Common MacBook Pro has in fact been in a sort of dilemma between Air and Pro Retina, but if it means that Apple will phase out conventional Pro has so far been no hints about.

New mini-computer

The only consumer computer to Apple we have not mentioned so far is the Mac Mini – a machine that does not have got the new Haswell processor. If Apple first upgrade MacBook Pro models will probably also give the Mac Mini the new processor, and then once the new 802.11ac network.

powerhouse Mac Pro

During Apple’s June launch, a brand new Mac Pro on display. It has previously been a pro machine the size of half a microwave is now a cylindrical power plug. The machine was barely showcased while specifications were made known, but neither price, release date or pictures of the machine in action is seen since.

Discount will hardly be, as it comes packed with lightning-fast PCI Express-based SSDs, FirePro graphics and memory. About Apple we launch the machine in the evening is one of the more uncertain rumors, but we hope to at least hear any more about this machine – especially information about when it will be released on the market.

Apple TV upgrade – maybe

When we are in the rumor of the more uncertain cultivar, Apple TV be mentioned. Some rumors have it namely that an update of Apple’s little media box will show up tonight. The box already supports full HD resolution, which was the last upgrade, exactly what a relaunch will involve has not been nailed down specifically.

rumors mainly pointing to the new features in the small hokeypucken, but this vague specification has little concrete evidence. The only sure thing about Apple TV is that several sources has it that a new version is coming.

iPad be upgraded

Among the more secure the rumors are likely to assume that Apple will showcase two new iPads, respectively 5 generation iPad and the new iPad Mini. A series of photos of the two are in fact leaked online over the past few weeks and it is expected that the power levels will get Apple’s new 64-bit A7 chip and fingerprint sensor TouchID – both as a legacy of iPhone 5s.
