The railway in this country affected averaging five signal failure every day. Over half of these occur in eastern Norway.

An overview of the number of signal failure on Norwegian railway from 2008 to 2014 shows that it is registered in all 12,500 signal failure that has given greater or lesser disturbances in traffic, writes Aftenposten.

The record year was last year with 2355 error, but 2014 will be almost as bad with 2030 signal failure if the trend holds out the year.

This happens despite the fact that Oslo S and other stretches in recent years has been closed for days and weeks, while billions of dollars have gone into upgrading and renewal.

About 80 percent of the rail network uses technology that was first used in Norway in 1925. The management systems were implemented in the 1950s and 60s, but with technology which was developed in the late 1800s.
