– The Barents Sea is important for Russia’s development of new military technology. Therefore, it has great importance that Norway renews its ability to understand the development, follow the activity and control of the business, says Kjell Grandhagen, chief of the Intelligence Service.

Journalist Alf R. Jacobsen, who since 1980 has made a number television documentaries and books on military intelligence in northern areas, is of the same opinion:

– The Barents Sea is Russia’s premier weapons laboratory for new naval weapon. Therefore Norway’s new military spy ship “Marjata” of absolute paramount importance for our surveillance and presence in the north, he said.
