Smarter bureaucrats can save 210 million kroner – ABC News

The Ministries can save 210 million per year if all are as effective as the most effective ministry, according to a recent report.

Through a year using Ministries 1922 million in administrative functions.

If all were as good as the most effective ministry, the sum would have been NOK 210 million lower, says Capgemini. Konsulentfirmaet have made efficiency report commissioned by Municipal and modernization Minister Jan Tore Sanner.

The report also says that it is 65 million to save, if the ministries that have a resource use over the incision fail to improve the average. There should be a minimum estimate consultants.

Sanner said in a statement that it’s not about running faster, but to work smarter.

– If there is much duplication or something is better organized in one department than another, it is important that we learn across. This report provides valuable input in this work, says Sanner.

He says it is a measure that the State should be better and reduce costs where possible.



Better services

Capgemini has found that there is money to be saved to become better at exploiting economies of scale, increased use of modern technology, increased productivity and better use of supplies from the market.

Sanner says with better organized Ministry and less duplication, it becomes liberated time that employees can use to provide better services. (© NTB)
