We have tried iOS 7 - DinSide

ad

DinSide Yesterday lifted the veil for Apple iOS 7, which represents the biggest change of the operating system since the first iPhone was launched in 2007.

Update will not come until the fall, but registered Apple developers can download a beta version already.

It has obviously done.

“Installing iOS 7 is like getting a brand new phone, only you already know how to use it “it was said during yesterday’s launch.

quote above are obviously pitching, but after trying the iPhone 5 with the first beta version of the iOS operating system 7, there is much to suggest that Apple has their words intact.

Inspired by competitors

Most have been given a new look in the new iOS. There are new colors, fonts and icons. Apple has rejected everything that had to reflect elements from the real world, yellow notepads and bookcases in wood.

Everything looks cleaner and nicer out, we think.

more elegant with tighter lines than before. Apple seems to have taken inspiration from both Windows Phone, Windows 8 and Android, which in recent years has emerged as more modern mobile operating systems, but has nevertheless made it together and added his own touch.

Brand new unlock screen

Lock screen is as new and hardly recognizable. The good old swipe-to-lock-unlock switch is gone, although you will still swipe to the right to get onto the home screen.

In addition, Apple has introduced something called dynamic backgrounds, which makes lock screen can look like a live image. They move on with gyroscope as you twist and turn on the device (and also works on the regular home screen). It looks at all much stylish than before.

Another new thing is the notification center is now available directly from the lock screen. There is also the new Quick Settings menu, Control Center (we will return to it soon). Lock screen is suddenly, and high time, too become more than just lock screen.

The new home screen

Home screen still consists of a grid of apps, but there is much that is different in both design and functionality. Apple has also created new icons that are “flatter” and more stylish. All of the built-in apps have also gotten a makeover and some more recognition than others.

As always there will be some that are critical to the design choices, and believe that both icons and apps look childish out and has too flashy colors. What YOU think, we hope you tell us in the debate below, but keep it constructive.

It is actually no longer limits on how many apps you can have in a folder on the home screen. You can cram in as many as you like. A folder with more than nine apps will have more pages you can browse from. We can enjoy.

Notification Center with tabs

The old warning center, which shows all incoming notifications as text messages, Facebook updates, email and other, has also been updated and is now divided into tabs where you can see whether the day’s events, all notices or missed alerts. Orderly in a way, although it may still be a long list to scroll through.

Menu retrieved still up by pulling your finger down from any screen.

Faster access to settings

Finally also get iOS users easier access to frequently used settings. iOS 7 will throw up a new menu called Control Center, which is called up by dragging your finger up from any screen.

From this menu you can turn on and off airplane mode, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, adjusting brightness, control music playback, using airdrops or AirPlay, start the camera and so on. There’s even a flashlight function. The menu may be perceived as a bit crowded, but now at least the option there. We would certainly welcome by Apple.

Better multitasking

Multitasking has been upgraded to iOS 7 and now works with all apps, not just a limited selection. The operating system can also monitor how you use apps which you use the most and when to use them, and keep the contents of the automatically updated in the background when needed.

In theory it should save both resources and battery, so this will be interesting to follow over time.

switching between apps have also been different. When you double click the home button, you can no longer see a menu bar at the bottom with icons, but now also appears screenshots of apps. To close an app, you simply drag the thumbnail view up and out of the screen. Far more flexible than before.

Incidentally operating system generally perceived as much more responsive than before, that despite the fact that it is an early beta we’ve tested.

New camera app

Taking pictures with the built-in camera app in iOS 7 is quite different than before. This application has been four cameras in one: one for video, one for normal images, one for square images and one for panoramic pictures. You switches between cameras by simply swiping your finger left or right on the screen.

still images is now possible to add the color filters, and there is also live previews of these. The old animation that sends a flipped image into the Camera Roll is gone, so it almost seems like it goes faster too.

Safari in full screen

Apple’s browser also got a huge boost in iOS 7 Among the news is real full screen mode and a completely new tab view, not unlike how it works in Chrome. The limitation of maximum eight tabs is also gone. You can also scroll back and forth in web pages just by swiping left and right on the screen.

iOS Safari also supports Apple’s new iCloud keychain, which synchronizes passwords and credit card information across devices (so there’s no reason not to use passcode lock on iOS devices!).

Much more new

Otherwise, Apple has introduced automatic updating of apps on the App Store and it is possible to make FaceTime calls with audio only. It is finally also become possible to block phone numbers from incoming calls and messages.

Airdrops is also a new feature that lets you share content with other users nearby via WLAN.

iOS 7 will Of course, with even more news than we have managed to crawl here and maybe Apple has some even more lurking in the autumn when a new iPhone probably will be released.

first impression is, however, very good.

It was definitely time for a renewal of the user interface, although there is much to learn himself in. Many of the features are not revolutionary, but makes a whole iPhone and iPad a bit more user friendly than before.
