Huawei kill the myth of "simple" china mobiles - Amobil.no

Huawei Ascend P6 is not just cheap. It is delicious and featured too. We went to London to try it.

Sometimes it’s fun to be a journalist with mobile phones that specialty. As when the boss gives the go-ahead for the purchase of airline tickets to London to witness the launch of what will be Huawei’s major focus this spring, the world’s thinnest cell phone, Ascend P6.

Great Expectations

As the only Norwegian media at the press conference (some apparently missed the plane), we got extra time to pick on the new mobile phone.

We had indeed a clear idea of ??what we expect. Yet it tingled ever so little in our technophiles fingers when we finally got the physical product in their hands.

Huawei Ascend P6 is a rålekker and smart Android mobile that has a lot of iPhone in it. It weighs 120 grams, 6.18 mm thick and has a silver frame with black plastic that is broken by a plastic strip that marks the boundary between the antenna and the rest of the frame.

But

Although the phone at first glance is strikingly similar to the iPhone, the differences are large enough that the Huawei Ascend P6 can not be called a blueprint. Among other things sitting charging plug on top of the phone, while audio output located on the lower left side. In addition, the SIM card is placed on the lower right side of the phone. Above this door sits there looking like an extra SIM card slot.

This door hides the place to MicroSD card, not on the iPhone. The phone also has much larger screen than the iPhone, while being thinner. The phone also differs from the iPhone in that it has no menu key below the screen.

When we recently got the Huawei Ascend P2 to the test, the enthusiasm to touch and feel. But the excitement was over the disappointment in line with that we found ever new weaknesses in the phone. With Ascend P6 is excitement again on top. We’ll see how long it stays this time. Currently it looks good, and we have not experienced the problems we had with Ascend P2.

In other words, very promising, although we must make a reservation on the phone also acts normally when we start with thorough testing.

Some items may appeal the matter we point out immediately. The phone only has 8GB of memory, and almost half of that is eaten up by the software that comes with the phone. Here is the latest version of Bluetooth, with support for low energy accessories like Bluetooth Smart heart rate belts and the like. The phone is not 4G (LTE) or NFC.

of these things is enough memory space is most critical. Much can be solved with memory cards but not all. Offline playlists from services like Wimp and Spotify may soon come to steal all of the available memory, you can not simply move this music to a memory card.

We’d appreciate if Huawei could come up with an alternative model with more memory. A variation of Ascend P6 with 4G coming in October / November, but it is unclear whether this will also have more memory.

For those who may wonder if this is a phone that can compete with the flagship S4 from Samsung, iPhone 5 from Apple, HTC One or Sony Xperia Z, the answer is not clear. Can you make it without 4G and NFC, I am tempted to say that the answer is yes. Ascend P6 is a phone that offers great value for money. The price will in fact end up at around 3000 dollars, and you can even check how the competition has priced its phones at Prisguide.no.

paper Huawei is not in the same league like the Sony Xperia Z or Samsung Galaxy S4. The meeting enough iPhone 5 in most areas, as near as memory and 4G. But the interesting thing is that it also has a camera that takes very good pictures.

Huwaei have added a function to get the camera to automatically select the settings for the scene. That means you do not need to select the macro or night shooting manually.

Huawei also did a number that you can set a slider with ten levels for facial improvement. If you put it at 10, the depicted supposedly look ten years younger. While I was either younger or prettier, but then it also limits to what one might expect.

There is no common application menu on the phone. Everything is on the home screen or in folders on the home screens. To remove one level in the menus are smart, but requires some getting used to. It says Huawei straight out that they’ve seen on the iPhone, while they claim they have improved their interface compared to iOS.

phone is only 6.18 millimeters thick (hence the release date June 18). Huawei also explains the name P6 with the phone is 6 mm thick. It has the words nothing to do with the fact that Apple probably come with the iPhone 6 before long.

We let us delight

Build quality impresses, and the phone actually works quite luxurious. The price is set at about 3000 million, which will put more of its competitors to tremble in his pants.
