It appears that Google now wins bidding war for the popular company Waze, which develops traffic applications and mapping technology.

Both, Apple Facebook and Google have previously shown interest in the company, but now reports that sources close to the negotiations says that Google is ready to add one billion dollars, about six billion on the table to buy the company already this week, the Wall Street Journal.

Expensive acquisitions
Waze is a mobile service that promises its users that together they can evade traffic jams and find the quickest route to your destination. They have about 45 million members in 190 countries, which together are updating maps with information about the accident, police and queues.

If everything goes according to plan, the acquisition of the five year old, Israel-based company become Google’s fourth-largest acquisition ever.

Only three acquisitions Google has cost over one billion dollars, the acquisition of video site YouTube in 2006 nine billion advertising company DoubleClick, which was acquired for over 18 billion in 2007 and last year’s giant acquisition of Motorola Mobility for 72 billion.
