Apple recently pulled the veil of Ios 7, the new operating system for its iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
Ios 7 is probably not available to most people just yet. It is available in beta version for developers. This means that you must be a registered developer with Apple to get access to it.
Although it may be tempting to try to install the new iOS version it is wise to keep in mind that it is not strictly suitable for everyday use yet.
There are many errors, applications may crash, the phone can lock, and battery to drain abnormally fast. We therefore recommend that you wait for the final version released before installing Ios 7

To test Ios 7
If you still want to live on the edge, it’s a cinch to install the beta version. It is required as mentioned you are a registered developer. Then you need to register your phone in Apple’s database developer units.
The latter is a critical point. There are a number of players that allow you to register your phone without creating a developer account. It requires providing your serial number on the phone and pay a few dollars. But you should know that this violates Apple’s guidelines, and that they therefore can disable your phone anytime.
There are also other methods that apparently does not require registration, but these we have not tried myself.
If we are going to recommend something, it is to register as a developer. This costs $ 99. You can then register your phone, download the iOS 7 beta and install using iTunes on your PC or Mac.
process is in brief as follows:
- Download Ios 7 correct version for your phone.
- Extract. ipsw file from. dmg package with an appropriate program.
- Update iPhone to latest version of iOS 6, and iTunes to the latest version.
- Back up your phone content via iTunes.
- In the Overview window for Iphone in Itunes hold shift down, and pulled the “Restore iPhone”.
- Select. ipsw file with iOS beta 7 and restore.
- When the process is finished, you have iOS 7 on your phone.
How is iOS 7
Then we followed Apple’s launch, we admit that we were infected by the enthusiasm. In practice, however, we are experiencing a lot of news in iOS 7 as a result of that Apple must keep up with the competition.
It is useful to have quick access to settings like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and brightness. It is also useful to have quick access to music controls and adjusting the brightness of the screen. But honestly: We write 2013. We expect this.
Some of the new features in Ios 7 is also clearly inspired by what your competitors are doing. We think especially of the new app switcher, reminiscent of similar solutions in Windows Phone, Palms WebOS and HTC last year’s models.
That it resembles other solutions is not negative in our eyes. Here, Apple has obviously seen solutions that work with your competitors. All manufacturers do this. Just look at the latest version of Nokia’s Symbian, which had a number of obvious Android-inspired features.
We have looked at some of the new in iOS 7 For reasons of length we can not go through every detail, but we have taken some reflections on some of the news, updates and overall appearance.
Appearance
When it comes to the actual design expression in iOS 7, we like the direction Apple has moved in. There has been no fundamental changes in the appearance of the menus since iOS 4, and we guess it is more than us who have thought that iOS has looked a bit stuffy for a while now.
iOS 7, Apple has opted for bright colors and thinner fonts. It looks great on the high resolution iPhone screen. Menu icons have been refreshed and now has a more minimalist look.
Animation of apps open and close are new. When you press the app icon “zoom” into the app. Closes it zooms out to the app menu again.
As mentioned, it is possible to have animated backgrounds. It comes with two of these so-called dynamic backgrounds.
Also telefonappen has been upgraded with new number keys. It looks clean and pretty. When someone calls you also see it fresher. You pull your finger over the answer or reject fields. You can also choose to add a reminder for you to redial, or reply with an SMS.
One detail that has received attention is that iOS 7 uses the phone’s accelerometer to create a 3D effect in menus. Most visible is the main menu, where app icons and background move slightly relative to each other when you tilt the phone.
It gives the illusion of depth, looking for just a little sharp. This is also an effect Microsoft had on his media player Zune HD a few years ago.
You also get this effect in dialog boxes, such as when you enter the password in the App store. You will see it is rather like most about the box move, rather than that it looks very 3D like.
Apple has gone for a certain degree of transparency in many menu items. When writing meldigner can for example see the contours of your calls if they are hidden behind the keyboard. In the browser, you see the same contours of the website behind the address bar and menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
New Menu Functions
Apple has integrated a back function, which in a way reminiscent of the back button in Android. In Apple Apps can now swipe a finger from the side and the screen and inward to return to the previous screen. Similarly you can jump forward again. Useful for example in the settings, or in the browser.
Lock screen is updated. Where iOS 6 shows the virtual slide switch, is this now gone on iOS 7 It actually took us a while before we understood how the phone is unlocked. It’s pretty easy just to pull a finger to the left side of the screen.
lock screen, you can rest also open the Control Center by dragging a finger from the bottom of the screen upwards. Then you can adjust or change tracks in the music player.
You can also open the notifications here, by dragging a finger from the top of the screen down. Just like on many Android phones.
Forecast Center works as before, but is now divided into three tabs: Today, everyone and missed. Today provides an overview of the current calendar events, stocks, and weather. Everyone is all forecasts, such as missed calls and new messages. Unanswered are reasonably self-explanatory.
Spotlight has moved
We leave immediately noticed that the Spotlight search feature is gone. In iOS 6, you can scroll to the left or press the home key to finding this. Well, gone are not in iOS 7 It has a new location. You pull a finger from a little below the top of the screen and down to open the search box. From there, search for apps, messages, files and other files on your phone.
for just a straightforward solution, but we will often accidentally open the Notification Center instead of the search field when we use it. And it may not be as readily available as before.
Appveksler
Appveksleren got a real overhaul. As mentioned above shows the screenshots of the different apps, rather than just icons. The icons are however not lost, as they are under the screens.
quit apps here done in a new way. Instead of keeping a finger on the icon until you get the choice to quit apps, move the screen up. This is the same method that Palm WebOS had, and it is quite similar way appveksleren in Android works.
We see this much more clearly than the solution in iOS 6, which thus only icons.
Camera and Photos
Apple has updated kameraappen. Now you can switch between the different modes by swiping across the screen. Thus, it is a snap to switch to video or panoramic photo.
have iPhone 5 can also add filters when shooting. However, such filters can be added later via the Camera Roll later if you want.
interface kameraappen perceived as simpler and more minimalist than before. There is still no advanced options here, so you can do all kinds of settings. A whole lot of settings we never use, we find a number of other phones, so we do not miss it.
You can also zoom while recording video in iOS 7 A neat feature to have available, but that does not work on our test phone.
Safari
browser has received a proper overhaul. One of the things we like best is that you finally can now search by typing the search string directly into the address bar. The old search box is gone. It is entirely positive, we think.
browser is also now more of a full experience. That is, unlike the former, the internet address always visible on top. But the menu bar at the bottom of the screen is now gone while browsing. All in all it is therefore more room for content in the browser. It felt especially positive on the iPhone 4S, which has a lower screen than the iPhone 5
As before, you can open multiple browser tabs, and have them in the background. But there is no limit on how many tabs you have open.
tabs appear much like file cards in a drawer. There is a clear way to show multiple tabs at once.
Other
Otherwise calendar updated with the new look. You can move calendar events between days by pulling them to another day.
other Apple apps are also updated. For example, calculator, clock and weather app a new look. Speech recognition feature Siri has become more extensive, but still works not in Norwegian.
iOS 7 still has Apple’s own maps app, and this has now support for pedestrian navigation with turn-by-turn guidance. But the harbor in Bergen is still dry.
App Store, you can now see which apps are popular near your location. It is obviously not so many that use iOS 7 nearby, App Store has no suggestions here.
iOS now comes with integrated flashlight. This can be found in the control center, so there is no longer any reason to install a separate app for this.
The new sharing feature airdrops, which allows you to share content with other iOS 7 users, we have not otherwise had the opportunity to test out.

Summary
Our impression of iOS 7 is that this is a much needed refresh of an operating system begins to go on years. There is nothing here that is revolutionary and there is not much that has changed radically if you do not watch it with Apple’s eyes.
Apple’s control philosophy is the same, and iOS works much the same way as before. It is still easy to argue that Android is a more flexible operating system.
We are among those who like to point out that a number of the news, as the control center, it features other operating systems have had a long time. Whether it is copying someone else’s ideas? Obviously. Does it matter? Absolutely not. All others do the same. Apple has total ingredients from other platforms, and baked her own cake with them.
The important thing is that Apple has made the necessary steps to lift iOS on par with the competition. iOS 7 appears to be easier to use, not to mention far more beautiful than iOS 6
That looks better is obviously a subjective assessment. But we think most iOS users will appreciate this update. We do it definitely.
We note that many have allowed themselves to stir up over the new icons in the main menu. We are not quite the big problem, to be quite honest. But we read that this is likely to change in the final release anyway.
Since this is a beta version is probably much else that is also going to change. We should therefore expect to shed a final judgment on iOS 7 But we like what we’ve seen so far.
